What is concrete engraving?
Concrete engraving is an innovative new process that transforms your existing concrete into a work of art. By staining and engraving a design into the hard concrete, we can create a long-lasting, easy-to-maintain alternative to popular flooring products such as brick, marble, cobblestone or tile. We also offer a custom design service that provides endless possibilities for a truly unique design.
Can you engrave old concrete?
Absolutely! New or older surfaces will work with our concrete engravng process.
Where can an engraving be done?
An engraving can be done basically anywhere that there is concrete. Indoors or outdoors.
How long does it take to do a job?
From one to several days depending on the size of the job, the weather, and the pattern.
What has to be done with oil, grease, or tire marks on an engraving?
Most spills or marks can be easily removed using household degreasers and water. Be careful not to use an abrasive material that may scratch the surface. Oil and grease can easily be wiped up without any problems as long as they are not allowed to remain on the surface for extended periods of time.
What is the largest area I can engrave?
Size is unlimited. The patterns can carry on and repeat thousands and thousands of feet.
What is the life expectancy of an engraving installation?
The pattern will last as long as the concrete because it is the concrete.
What will an engraving job look like in several years?
With periodic maintenance, the surface will look substantially the same years after installation. With no maintenance, over time, engraved bricks or tiles naturally take on an antique or used brick appearance. Most people find this to be a very desirable look.
Can just portions of the concrete slab be engraved?
Yes, but the entire slab in most cases will be more attractive. It's a matter of personal taste but continuity in a design is generally more pleasing to the eye.
How much does it cost?
A complete concrete engraving jobs cost is dependant upon concrete condition, total surface area, work area access, pattern style and finish designations. McAleer Concrete Design will be glad to review your application and quote you a specific contract price. You can find contact information on our Contact page.
